Intel® 82865G Graphics and Memory Controller Hub (GMCH)

Multi-Display Capabilities of the Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller

Multi-monitor is supported on most Intel® 82865G graphics controller-based systems using PCI video cards to support additional monitors. With the latest Intel® Extreme Graphics Drivers for the Intel 82865G graphics controller, the integrated video can be either the primary or the secondary display adapter. Multi-display is not possible with the onboard display and an AGP add-in card (the AGP card will disable the onboard graphics).

System requirements for multi-monitor:

* Integrated Intel 82865G graphics controller
* PCI video card(s) that support(s) multi-monitor
* Two or more monitors
* Windows* 98SE/Me/2000/XP
* Intel 82865G graphics controller-based motherboard that supports multi-monitor
* The latest Intel Extreme Graphics Drivers for the Intel 82865G graphics controller

To use multi-monitor with the Intel 82865G graphics controller:

1. Install the latest Intel Extreme Graphics Drivers for the Intel 82865G graphics controller, or if an AGP graphics card is installed, make sure the latest drivers for that card are installed

2. Power off the computer and install the PCI video card.

Note: Opening the system case may void the warranty on some systems. Check with the system manufacturer before opening the system case.

3. Attach the second monitor to the PCI video card.

4. Power on the computer and install the drivers for the PCI video card. Check with the video card manufacturer for instructions on installing the drivers for the PCI video card.

5. Restart the computer.

6. Click Start » Settings » Control Panel » Display » Settings tab and click on the picture of monitor, and then click on the Yes button to enable the second monitor

7. Click the Apply button. The secondary monitor should now be enabled
